About RTI at Meghalaya Rural Bank
The Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act) mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. As a Regional Rural Bank sponsored by SBI and owned by the Government of India, Government of Meghalaya, and State Bank of India, Meghalaya Rural Bank is a "Public Authority" under the RTI Act.

Exemptions from Disclosure
Under Section 8 of the RTI Act, certain information is exempt from disclosure. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Personal information of customers (account details, balances) which invades privacy.
- Information of commercial confidence, trade secrets, or intellectual property.
- Information held in a fiduciary relationship (e.g., trust between bank and customer).
- Information that would endanger the life or physical safety of any person.
