The Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act) mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. As a Regional Rural Bank sponsored by SBI and owned by the Government of India, Government of Meghalaya, and State Bank of India, Meghalaya Rural Bank is a "Public Authority" under the RTI Act.

Our Bank provides a wide range of functional banking services aimed at meeting the
financial needs of customers across rural and urban areas. The core nature of services
includes acceptance of deposits such as Savings, Current, Fixed Deposit, and Recurring
Deposit accounts, along with providing various advance facilities including agricultural
loans, retail loans, MSME finance, housing loans, vehicle loans, and other credit
products.
The Bank also offers comprehensive digital banking services to ensure convenient,
secure, and accessible banking for customers anytime and anywhere. These services
include UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, ATM services, QR-based
payments, and digital transaction facilities. The Bank further facilitates Digital
Instant Account Opening services, enabling customers to open accounts through simplified
and technology-driven processes.
In addition to banking operations, the Bank actively supports financial inclusion
initiatives and implementation of various Government-sponsored schemes and social
security programs. These include schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
(PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY),
National Pension System (NPS), Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) services, and other
welfare-oriented initiatives introduced by the Government from time to time.
